FINDLAY, Ohio (Aug. 4, 2026) — United Way of Hancock County is unveiling a new self-signup option for volunteer teams participating in Fall Days of Caring.
This three-day fall service event will be held from Sept. 28-30. United Way is currently seeking projects from local agencies with 501(c)3 status, government offices, churches, schools and certain for-profits. These projects will be accepted through Aug. 17, at which time volunteer teams will have the opportunity to review the available projects and select the one that best aligns with their team size, schedule, skills and interests.
In the past, United Way has paired volunteers with projects. This change will allow teams to take a more active role in choosing where they serve, and will allow teams more time to communicate with their agency and plan for their assignment.
In this beginning phase, local agencies are encouraged to think ahead to some fall/winter projects they’ll need extra hands completing. Projects — anything from raking leaves and fall cleanup to deep cleaning common areas, painting rooms or outdoor areas, washing windows, organizing storage rooms or preparing outdoor spaces for winter — can be submitted at www.uwhancock.org.
Click the button labeled ‘Days of Caring’ at the top of the page for the project signup and more information.
Volunteer signup will begin Aug. 17. Teams are reminded that all project matches are tentative until confirmed by the United Way.
