FINDLAY, Ohio (Feb. 27, 2026) – Registration is open for United Way of Hancock County’s Spring Days of Caring, a weeklong service event that pairs volunteer teams with local organizations in need of help.
Days of Caring will take place May 4-8. In four-hour shifts, volunteers from area corporations, civic groups and small businesses will take on projects such as landscaping, organizing, painting, cleaning, construction and more. Shifts run from 8 a.m. to noon or noon to 4 p.m. at locations across Hancock County including nonprofit offices, government buildings, parks, ballfields, churches and schools.
Registration for both agencies looking to submit projects and the volunteers who will complete them can be made at www.liveunitedhancockcounty.org/days-caring
“Days of Caring is one of our favorite times of the year because it shows the magnitude of what can be accomplished when people pitch in for a common cause,” said United Way of Hancock County CEO Kelley McClurkin.
She noted that during last spring’s Days of Caring, over 850 volunteers completed 89 service projects for 36 different agencies. In just five days, these teams provided 3,444 service hours — a value to the community of nearly $120,000.
“This initiative is so special because the excitement of our Days of Caring volunteers is infectious. We see teams bonding over their projects, and at the end of the week we see a community that has been transformed by their hard work,” McClurkin said. “Even more valuable is the cost savings the volunteers’ efforts saves these agencies, allowing them to put the dollars they would have directed toward these projects into their programming instead.”
Registration closes April 11, and the United Way will connect volunteer teams with their agency projects by April 22.
