FINDLAY, Ohio (Sept. 18, 2026) — United Way of Hancock County is working to raise $1.9 million this fall to strengthen vital supports for children, families and individuals across our community.
Every year, United Way of Hancock County brings together workplaces, individual donors, volunteers and community partners to make a lasting impact through its Annual Campaign. This community-wide engagement raises critical funding that is allocated to the United Way’s 15 local partner agencies and their specific programming that is dedicated to fostering food security, championing children and family success, supporting safe housing, and promoting health and safety.
In total, United Way-funded programming serves 1 in 4 people in Hancock County.
This year’s Campaign goal is $1.9 million, which the United Way will work to raise in just two months. The organization kicked off its Campaign season with a community pickleball tournament. The Annual Campaign continues through mid-November, incorporating a variety of activities designed to build corporate enthusiasm, provide volunteer engagement and educate the public on the efforts of local nonprofits.
As always, every donation made to United Way of Hancock County will stay in our community.
“Our mission at United Way of Hancock County is to ‘measurably improve people’s lives.’ We do that by ensuring that basic needs are met for individuals and families and that, ultimately, people are put on a path toward financial stability,” said CEO Kelley McClurkin.
“We know that typically, when a family is struggling to afford groceries, they are insecure in other areas too, such as safe, affordable housing or reliable transportation to work. United Way steps in to close those gaps and ensure that resources are available to help this family to grow and thrive on their own.”
The United Way’s campaign cabinet serves as the key connection between the organization and its corporate partners. Leading the Campaign’s efforts are Kelly Wohlgamuth, coordinator of Gifted and English Learner Services at Findlay City Schools; and Jeff Young, Superintendent at the Hancock County Educational Service Center.
Cabinet members include:
• Wohlgamuth and Young, serving as Campaign chairs and chairs of the Education Division.
• Chuck Bills, president of Ohio Logistics, serving as Corporate Division chair.
• Myron Lewis, president and CEO of Blanchard Valley Health System, serving as Health Division chair.
• Silver Viera, owner of Silver’s salon, serving as Mercantile Division chair.
• Sean Abbott, Hancock County Prosecutor, serving as Professional Division chair.
• Jaclynn Hohman, project manager for the City of Findlay, and Randall Galbraith, director of Hancock County Job & Family Services, serving as Public Division co-chairs.
• Josh Slough, Key Realty, serving as FIRE (Finance, Insurance, Real Estate) Division chair.
• Cathy Schroll, mayor of the Village of McComb, serving as Rural Division chair.
• Anne Whitman, retired from Premier Bank, serving as Retiree/Independent Division chair.
This year’s Campaign theme is “United Is the Way.”
