United Way offers grants toward pandemic relief

Findlay, Ohio (April 6, 2021) Another round of funding to assist local nonprofit organizations is being offered by United Way of Hancock County.

Applications are available on the agency's website and are due by 5 p.m. April 20. Awards will be announced by the week of April 26.

Nonprofits may apply for a grant of up to $15,000. United Way is not charging an administrative fee to manage the fund, and 100% of invested funds will go to county nonprofits which provide services addressing COVID-19 relief.

The fund was created last spring through the generosity of area individuals and businesses and is designed to complement the work of city, county, public health and school officials and expand local capacity to address pandemic-related needs.

“We were able to grant out over $80,000 in the first two cycles to local nonprofits who have been taking care of critical needs,” said Angela DeBoskey, United Way of Hancock County CEO. “We will continue supporting local nonprofits in their efforts to creatively respond to the needs arising from the pandemic.”

The funds are available to groups/organizations in the following areas:

• Nonprofits responding to client needs as associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, not covered by any other source.
• Nonprofits utilizing creative community solutions, either created for or adapted for responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
