Findlay Young Professionals Annual Kickoff

United Way of Hancock County’s Findlay Young Professionals (FYP) group will be hosting their annual kickoff event on January 24 at 5:30 p.m. at Alexandria’s, 132 E. Crawford St.

The event will include speaker Tim Mayle. Mayle began working as the assistant director of economic development at the Findlay Hancock County Alliance in the spring of 2011.  Mayle is a 2003 graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelors of Science in Geographic Information Systems.  Prior to joining the Alliance, Mayle worked for the Hardin County Commissioners for seven years.  Mayle has become active in the community through several organizations.  He is the president of the North Central Campus for Emerging Technologies, board member of Findlay Young Professionals and serves on the Findlay Young Professionals lead committee.  He is also a board member of the Small Business Resource Center, a member of Kiwanis, serves on the Celebrate Central Committee and the Northwest Ohio Regional Economic Development (NORED) marketing committee.  Mayle is currently working towards obtaining his Certified Economic Developer designation through the International Economic Development Council.

The event will feature opportunities to network, prizes, cash bar, free hors d’oeuvres and chances to sign up for committees and events for the upcoming year. There is no cost to attend the event.

Newly installed board chair, Andrea Wilcox said, “We are excited to invite young professionals to enjoy a fun night of cocktails, networking, door prizes and more while hearing from some fantastic speakers. We are eager to share what FYP is, how it is working in our community and how we are changing the young professional dialogue in Findlay.”

Cost to join the group is $50 per year. The group is open to professionals in Hancock County in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s that have a desire to connect, serve and lead with like-minded young professionals. Individuals who want to join the group can visit http://findlayyp.com
