United Way Seeking Donations for 2017 Online Auction

nited Way of Hancock County will hold its 2nd annual online auction fundraiser from midnight on Nov. 24 through 7 p.m. on Dec. 2. Local businesses are sought to only donate a gift certificate from the business. The gift certificate offer, with the business’s logo will be placed on the auction website. The winning bidder will receive a verified receipt and will stop by the business to pick up the prize. This ensures that the winner enters the place of business.

“The winning bidder will receive a verified receipt and must stop by the business to pick up the prize. This ensures that the winners enter local businesses. This is great exposure for our small businesses and the proceeds will help to measurably improve people’s lives in Hancock County,” said Andrea Kramer, chair of the mercantile division for United Way’s 2017 fundraising cabinet. “Last year we raised more than $5,000 with this online auction. We’d like to see that grow this year,” she said.

Donating a gift certificate is easy. The business owner should go to http://liveunitedhancockcounty.org/online-auction-donation and complete the simple form. The deadline for submitting an item or offer is 12 p.m. on Nov. 22.
