Volunteers Sought for United Way Blitz Team

United Way of Hancock County is seeking volunteers “blitz team members” who will be delivering campaign materials to individual workplaces in Hancock County.  This critically important position is considered a frontline effort to provide a personal touch.  All materials and small workplace envelopes will be delivered to all small and mid-size companies by volunteers or pairs of volunteers. A “Blitz Breakfast” is scheduled for Friday morning, September 6, 2013.  At that time all blitz team members will be provided materials for delivery in an assigned area or specific group of companies.  The expectation is that all campaign materials will be in the hands of workplaces by September 20.

Volunteers for this position should be passionate about improving lives in Hancock County. They should have the ability to take direction and be self starting. The time commitment would be 4 to 15 hours over 30 days, depending on assignment.

Blitz team members must have the ability to pleasantly interact with and provide encouragement to small business owners and managers regarding the annual United Way fundraising effort. They must also be willing to follow up either in person or by phone, as needed;

Volunteers will report to the campaign division chair or team captain. For more information contact Michael Momany, resource development director at 419-423-1432 or
