Date Night for a Cause to Raise Funds for Feed-A-Child Program

Date Night for a Cause will be held Saturday, June 11 at 7:30 p.m. at Alexandria’s, 132 E. Crawford St. Proceeds from the event will benefit United Way’s Halt Hunger Initiative, more specifically the Feed-A-Child program. Tickets are $30 each and are available to purchase at http://LiveUnitedHancockCounty.org.  Only 200 tickets will be sold. The event will feature a “Dating Game” scenario during with pre-selected contestants. The audience will select the contestant’s date by voting with their dollars.

The event is open to adults 21 and over, singles and couples. Hors d’oeuvres will be provided. There will be a cash bar. Mitch Ary will emcee the event and provide DJ music at an after party.

The Feed-A-Child program is a weekend supplemental meal program for children who face food insecurity on a regular basis. Six easy- to-make meals are sent home on Friday afternoon with students who indicate a need or desire for these supplemental meals. This program currently served over 650 students in grades K-5 within the Findlay City Schools system and Cory Rawson. Collaborators in this project include: Findlay City Schools, Findlay Family YMCA, West Ohio Food Bank, Garner Trucking, Ohio Logistics with support from Marathon Petroleum Company, The Findlay-Hancock Community Foundation, United Way of Hancock County, the Halt Hunger Initiative, Blanchard Valley Health System, and St. Andrews United Methodist Church, as well as private donations.
